As preliminary work continues on the I-65 Central Corridor Project to replace bridges in downtown Louisville, several lanes and ramps on I-65 South are reopening ahead of schedule.

Motorists should note the following traffic changes:

  • I-65 South just south of Spaghetti Junction:
All three lanes are expected to reopen by 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 15.
  • I-65 off-ramp to East St. Catherine Street (Exit 135):
The ramp is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 15.
  • On-ramp to I-65 from South First Street near East Chestnut Street:
The ramp is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 15.

The lane and ramp closures have allowed crews to complete micropiling operations, a process that installs deep steel-reinforced concrete supports beneath existing structures to strengthen foundations for future bridge construction.

While lanes and ramps are reopening ahead of schedule, preliminary work will continue throughout the corridor, and motorists should remain alert for crews, equipment, and changing traffic patterns. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time when traveling through the area.
