Improvements
Three bridges are being replaced in summer 2026.
- Team Kentucky is committed to providing safe and efficient roads and bridges so families can get to school, work, the doctor, or wherever else they may need to go.
- Three key I-65 bridges over Kentucky Street/Brook Street, Hill Street/CSX Railroad/Burnett Avenue, and Bradley Avenue are being replaced first.
- All were built in the late 1950s as part of the original construction of the interstate and are at the end of their service life.
- Safety is a top priority. The new bridges will provide a safe and efficient commute for the approximate 125,000 drivers who rely on them daily for decades to come.
- A total of nine bridges on the I-65 corridor are being replaced or rehabilitated as part of the project. These first three bridges are most in need of repair.
