As part of the I-65 Central Corridor bridge replacement and rehabilitation project, motorists should watch for upcoming restrictions in downtown Louisville.
Overnight Lane Restrictions on Monday, Aug. 24 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
- Two lanes closed on westbound Muhammad Ali Boulevard between Floyd and Brook streets
- Two lanes closed on westbound Broadway between Jackson and First streets
- Two lanes closed eastbound Broadway between Fourth and Brook streets
- Two lanes closed on northbound Brook Street between Chestnut Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard; third lane closes at midnight
Two lanes will remain open on Muhammad Ali and Broadway during most of the overnight work.
Long-Term Downtown Detours
Muhammad Ali Boulevard under I-65 is scheduled to close to through traffic by 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25. This will be a long-term closure. A signed detour will be in place for drivers and pedestrians. Muhammad Ali Boulevard will be temporarily converted to two-way traffic for local access to enter and exit the UofL Health parking garage. The nearby section of Brook Street under I-65 will also close for the duration of the project.
Wednesday’s temporary closure of Broadway under I-65 will be postponed until later in the week of August 24, at the earliest. A signed detour will be in place for drivers and pedestrians.
